Prehistoric Museum Taufkirchen (Vils)

Travel back to primeval times long past

The Prehistoric Museum in Taufkirchen (Vils), just outside Munich in the district of Erding, is an adventure museum of a special kind. With original finds, replicas and lifelike models from long past prehistoric times (some 10 to 100 million years), image and sound information, visitors receive highly interesting and vivid information about partly bizarre prehistoric animals: Dinosaurs, cat-sized horses or ice age giants. Attractively staged, current scientific findings are presented in the Prehistoric Museum.

Since the beginning of 2014, the exhibition has been enriched by an exciting area. Under the motto "Meteorites - bombs from space", up to 4.6 billion year old meteorites from Argentina, the Sahara, Sweden and Siberia can be admired.

You can find out more about the great and extensive offers - including a primeval café - of this unique museum as well as the opening times at www.urzeitmuseum.de. A visit to the realm of prehistoric times is worthwhile!
